In the January newsletter, I put out a survey asking for your favorite historical and literary figures so I could take the audience temperature. I thought maybe one person might respond, but no. You all delivered the goods! And to my delight, I can safely say that we are all best friends separated merely by geography. Our souls are all connected because basically everyone you like, I like as well.
So drum roll please….here are your favorites:
Coming in at Number One
Jane Eyre and Mr. Rochester! Zero surprise because everyone asks for these two at my shows. You have been heard! You shall have them!
Here are the next few that I saw in the comments quite a bit:
MORE WITCHES, Mary Shelley, Charlotte Bronte, Dracula and Mina, Anastasia, Frida Kahlo, Coco Chanel, Countess Bathory, Colette, Madame du Pompadour, Joan of Arc, Ada Lovelace, The Medici’s, Winston Churchill, Abraham Lincoln, Lord Byron, Mozart, Beethoven, Nina Simone, Sherlock Holmes, Agatha Christie
Here are some people I looooove but probably can’t do anything on because I don’t want to get sued:
Anne Rice, Stephen King, everyone from Harry Potter and JK Rowling, Hillary Clinton, Elena Ferrante, Michelle Obama, Neil Gaiman, Jim Henson (THESE ARE SUCH AMAZING PEOPLE)
Audio content! - Do you read minds? This is literally what I’ve been working on and agonizing over. Coming soon.
More women writers! - Don’t you worry, they’re coming!
Composers and a musical range - I’m mad at myself that I haven’t done this yet. Two years ago someone from LA Philharmonic approached me about it but at the time I couldn’t take the project on. Soon.
Victorian Mourning Range - I used to do solid perfume lockets based on this concept! I’ll find a way to bring it back.
All of King Henry’s wives! - I really underestimated how much you all love the Tudors. I am so glad I am not alone.
I can tell you that there are quite a few people on here that I’ve been thinking about for a while. Several of whom I will probably either do perfumes or content on this year. I just thought I would share this so you know that there are so many other people out there that love all the same things you do. I find that special and comforting in this weird world.
