DIY Perfume Deodorant Spray

JT Siems August 4, 2015

This is a guest post from a lovely lady who has been coming to STA since I first opened in 2012. You can read more of her writing on her blog, West for Gold.

Hi everyone, my name is Jill and I am a long time STA fan and self-confessed fragrance junkie. Last week I shared with JT how I used my sample of her fragrance Beatrix to make my own deodorant body spray. She kindly asked if I would like to share it here and I graciously (nervously) accepted! Like JT I live in Washington but on the other side of the mountains where it is literally a desert. I have lost count of the number of days this summer that the temperature has gone over a hundred degrees. The thought of wearing any type of fragrance in this heat sounds suffocating and truly like a waste. Let’s face it in a matter of hours I have sweated it off or my own natural eau de me has taken over. So aside from standing in front of the freezer with the door open or cranking the AC, this simple and refreshing recipe has become my sweet smelling alternative. Enjoy!

What you will need:

3oz spray bottle

2 TBSP Distilled Grain Alcohol* (Everclear or Vodka), eliminates bacteria and helps the fragrance disperse in the liquid.

2 TBSP Aloe Vera Juice, skin soothing and hydrating

2 TBSP Witch Hazel, another skin soothing ingredient.

2ml sample size bottle of your favorite STA scent

In your 3oz bottle, combine all the ingredients, gently swirl, spray on yourself and enjoy! This recipe does not change the scent of the perfume, STA perfumes are highly concentrated, so what you get is a lighter, veil of the scent that you can reapply as needed. I am keeping a bottle of Ka’iulani in my purse.

Sweetest Regards,

Jill

*Make this recipe alcohol free by substituting with filtered water!
