SPOOKY PERFUMES FOR HALLOWEEN

It’s spoOoOky season and you’re in luck because there are a ton of October worthy scents out there. Here are some of my favorites!

Note that these are niche scents and some are very expensive. Check out perfume decanting and splitting sites (especially for discontinued perfumes) and sample sites like Luckyscent to get your hands on some at an affordable price.

Tom Ford’s Tobacco Oud is actually my favorite but it was discontinued (I was lucky enough to snag some first). This one is closest to the original formula. Sultry and mysterious as the night is long!

Nordic Noir by Agonist Perfumes. Cardamom, Sandalwood, Vanilla, and Musk are what October dreams are made from. Agonist has a bunch of perfumes I love, check out their full line.

Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab is my favorite Indie perfume brand. I love everything they do but especially their scents based on my favorite film, Only Lovers Left Alive. I loooove the Adam perfume because I imagine it’s what Tom Hiddleston smells like. Black leather and (vegan) ambergris. Dreamy.

If you’re like me, you love the smell of the cemetery after some midnight rain. That’s what this natural perfume from For Strange Women smells like.

I love Zoologist perfumes! Bat contains night blooming jasmine, moss, guava, and teak wood and it’s a perfect balance between earthiness and night magic if that makes sense lol

The Ruthless Countess Dorothea by Penhaligons is the quintessential fall scent. With notes like cinnamon, ginger, vanilla, sherry, and cashmere wood, you’ll be throwing your (cold) tea in that duplicitous duchess’ face!

Mad Madame has all the notes that scream boudoir. Tuberose, vanilla, rose, patchouli, and white musk. It smells like a wife locked in the attic but for roleplaying, not like being Mr. Rochester.

It’s the OG right here. If you like the scent of old libraries and the ghosts of words past (and I know you do because this has been the most popular perfume from my line since day 1) get out your typewriter and roll some Dead Writers Perfume on your wrists.

This cologne oil was inspired by the scent left behind on a trove of Harry Houdini’s papers and books. A blend of Peru balsam, chai tea, bergamot, and smoke evoke magic and mystery like the Master Mistifier himself.

What does a perfume inspired by Edgar Allan Poe smell like you ask? Like dead roses and ghostly whispers.

With Palo Santo, saffron, rose, jasmine, and black cardamom, this Maria Laveau inspired perfume smells like a cross between a love potion and a curse.

Something wicked this way comes with Weird Sister, a Macbeth inspired perfume. The perfume lures you in with a sticky, sweet scent before drying down to dirt and ash.

This homage to Theda Bara has notes of orchid, labdanum, fire, tonka bean and dragon’s blood. Unleash your inner vamp.

Mary Shelley Perfume

This perfume was inspired by the Queen of Horror herself, Mary Shelley, and smells of romance, despair, and lightning. Unhallowed Art starts off sweet and delicate before moving to a smoky base, like a slowly calcifying heart.
